Troubleshooting: OctoCue clickers

Adverts running in clicker footer#

OctoCue is not supported by adverts (not even trial accounts), so any adverts you see are not being served by OctoCue.

We generally see this issue when presenters are using a third-party QR code reader app on their device. These third-party apps are often ad-supported and will inject adverts into screen footers.

All modern devices will read QR codes using the regular built-in camera app that comes with the device, so no third-party software is required.

OctoCue App for iPhone not working on iOS 26.5.2#

Apple changed some permission settings in iOS 26.5.2, which caused issues with the OctoCue app.

To fix this, make sure you're using the latest version of the OctoCue app for iOS - at the time of writing, this is v1.5.0. This has been updated to work with the latest version of iOS.
